July 2020 Sermon Series – Sermon on the Mount:
Building our Foundation for our Post-COVID Life and Faith
This July, we are going to begin a new adventure. This is our “coming-out” as a congregation into a new world… as we live beyond normal. During the pandemic we discovered opportunities in the midst of adversity. We are different people and in many ways we are a different church. So, it’s time for a new kind of sermon as we rebuild a foundation as Christians. When Jesus began his new ministry, we went to a mountain by the Sea of Galilee and he began to talk to people in a fresh, new way. He told them what they should do… and prepare to do as His followers. He preached a message called “the Sermon on the Mount.”
Jesus was not hiding a thing. It was an open book on what Jesus was going to do and how we were to live. It was Christianity 101. This is going to be so awesome. We are going to make it totally practical for a new daily living. Sermon on the Mount: Building our Foundation for our new post-COVID Life and Faith. Don’t miss a Sunday! You can hear the messages on YouTube, in our online Zoom worship or in person in the church sanctuary as we practice social distancing and “Do No Harm” for those who wish to worship in person. Our first sermon will be on “You are the Light of the World, you are the Salt of the Earth.” Light your lamps! Be the spice of life in your living with others! GO BE THE CHURCH!
GO BE THE CHURCH – 3 Ways to BE THE CHURCH
July will be the continued launch of a triad of ways for us to be the CHURCH and REACH OUT as the CHURCH and BE the CHURCH ONLINE. This summer we are going to take the church with us on our vacations and our summer travels. We are “mobile” and available on our cell phones, on Zoom services and video by phone or in the sanctuary. This past week almost 86 people joined us ONLINE in worship (not to mention those live in sanctuary worship)! We had people watching as they run, touring their garden, on a morning walk, from a campground and more! We are doing life together. We can’t wait to see how you join us…perhaps on a bike ride! Enjoy the outdoor sanctuary for your worship! GO BE THE CHURCH!
MILPA GARDEN – GODS LITTLE ACRE FOR THOSE IN NEED – OUR WORK BEGINS!
Earlier this year, there was an idea about ways for us to help those in need. To grow a garden that would help feed those who most need fresh foods. A group from the “P.I.E.” Evangelism Team had a vision for a MILPA GARDEN for others. A place where we can grow food for others and enjoy working together for God – GO BE THE CHURCH! Bruce and Connie Carney of Carney Farms provided the sacred plot. Pounds of pounds of garden seeds of all types were mixed together and scattered. God took it from there and provided the rain! It’s available for us to work together and make a difference for God! Well it has grown and is producing daily. Now we need your help and presence to provide fresh food for our “neighbor in need.” We are going to set up a ZOOM MEETING for “THE GARDEN!” Join us!
It’s open for anyone from either of our churches and others inour communities. GO BE THE CHURCH!
